Kids' basics size guide
One chart for the whole store: every Little Basics product in sizes 4–14 uses these measurements. Measure height and waist, check weight, and order the size that matches two of the three — fit in basics is forgiving, and this page tells you which way to jump when you are between sizes.

Ages are approximations for orientation only — children grow at very different rates. Height and waist are the reliable columns.

How to measure in two minutes
Height: barefoot against a wall, heels and head touching, mark and measure to the floor. Waist: wrap a soft tape at the natural waistline — the crease when they bend sideways — over bare skin or a thin shirt, snug but not tight. Weight: any bathroom scale. No tape? A piece of string measured against a ruler works for the waist.
Between sizes? Read this before ordering
Underwear (briefs, hipsters, boyshorts, boxer briefs): size up. A slightly generous pair is comfortable all day; a slightly small one is abandoned in the drawer. Undershirts and camisoles: size up if the layer goes under uniforms — the extra length tucks better. Leggings: size down if between sizes; the knit recovery works best with a close fit, and a smaller size will not bag at the knee. Thermals: order the true size — a thermal layer only insulates when it sits close to the body. Socks: choose the band whose shoe-size range contains their current shoe size; when a foot sits at the top of a band, move up.
Fit after washing
Cotton-rich fabrics relax with the first wash and settle into their true fit; the chart already allows for standard first-wash shrinkage of cotton knitwear. Judge the fit of a new pack after one wash, not straight out of the packaging. If a size genuinely does not fit, our returns page explains the exchange process — unworn packs are straightforward to swap.
